Statement from Iran - Death of the Grand Ayatollah

The holy Islamic Republic is shocked by the death of the Grand Ayatollah,
blessed be his name. At this time the cause of his death is unknown but
there is strong suspicion that our holy leader did not die of natural
causes. The holy Islamic Republic is in deep mourning and would ask the
international community to respect our grief at this time.

French Press Statement - earlier this morning

The Republic of France and the EU are not prepared to pursue any form of military action against Iran at this stage. I would like to make it very clear that should ay state invade Iran in the near future, France will have no part as it would result in another Iraq. France cannot ethically become military involved as we believe that diplomatic means should continue being pursued prior to any talk of military action Sanctions needed to continue happening as consequential events to Iran not complying with the IAEA and the UN Security Council France would like to see Germany, Russia USA, UK China and with the support of the High Representative of the EU, to pressure Iran into being more transparent about its nuclear programme. Furthermore France believes that the aggressive language which the US president used in his press statement is counterproductive to the goals which the GA is trying to achieve.

Anonymous Report

US forces moving into Southern Iraq have been detaining large numbers of Iraqi citizens protesting peacefully against the reoccupation. Protests have been dispersed by force of arms, and many protesters have been beaten and 23 have been shot.
An entire quarter in Basra is in flames due to a violent US pacification strategy, supported by the Iraqi executive.
In response to these events, the Mahdi Army and other insurgent groups have resumed the fight against the US, attacking US troops and interests all over the country.

Update 3 of 3

Press Statement by Israeli GA delegate to all committees

The Israeli government has established an independent and fully objective commission which has been investigating the recent accusations of the Iranian authorities. This commission has found clear and irrefutable evidence that no military airplanes have crossed the Iranian border.
Once again it was proved that Iran is trying to manipulate the world opinion. And turn all states against democratic and independent state of Israel. We urge Iran to stop manipulating the international opinion in this way.

Update 2 of 3

The African Union would like to comment on recent developments in the Middle East. Firstly, regarding the diplomatic incident between Iran and Israel: we feel that we are unable to comment due to a lack of significant evidence; however should appropriate proof be given we would whole-heartedly support the Islamic Republic of Iran and strongly condemn the actions of Israel. The International Atomic Energy Agency has inspected Iran and was unable to discover any intentions by Iran to develop nuclear interests beyond civic purposes.
The recent decision by the American president to commit more forces to the state of Iraq is a foolish decision. We believe that America has been proven to be a destabilising power within the region, and that it should withdraw from Iraq and allow them to exercise their authority over their sovereign territory, able to hold free and democratic elections without American influence.

In this respect, the AU urges Turkey to withdraw its forces from Northern Iraq immediately, provided that there Iraqi council of ministers addresses the problem of the PPK and guarantees Turkey’s national security.

Finally, the AU would whole-heartedly support a conference designed to resolve increasing tensions in the Middle East, to be attended by Middle Eastern state leaders and Israel. This conference would be designed to remove the Western value influences that we feel that is being projected upon the Middle Eastern states.

Update 1 of 3

Comment by South America on the current tensions in the Persian Gulf:

Following the current developments in the Middle Eastern scene, the South American countries are deeply concerned with the escalating tension in the region. The world has witness the changing scene and another military incursion is not a viable solution in the eyes of the South American nations.
We urge relevant parties to refrain from acting in a violent way, as further investigation into the situation is needed and the South American nations believe the UN should take a leading role in this. Furthermore we strongly disagree with unilateral action.
We urge the GA to take all possible measures to stop individual countries interfering militarily in Iraq and Iran, and instead opt for multilateral collective action. In addition, violation of Middle Eastern countries sovereignty should not be infringed.

Turkey wants...

Turkey believes that the powder contained in the bomb can be identified as biological weapon. Furthermore Turkey is convinced that the PKK is to blame for this atrocious action and would like to request help from the US, the EU and NATO or the UN in this matter. The Turkish government turns in particular to Germany in search for ABC tanks.

As a responds to this statement by the Turkish government there have been mass demonstrations in the German capital city by the Turkish minority population. Similar actions have happened on a smaller scale all over Europe.

Press statement from Iran

We support the people of the United States in their recent demonstrations for the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq. They have proven nothing but a destabilizing influence in the region, and if the government does not heed the words of their people, then they are ignoring the values of democracy they are so keen to spread. The people of the world, including the countries involved of Iraq and US, are clearly in support of these withdrawals, and if the governments refuse to listen to their protest, then they are clearly unfit for rule, and should be immediately disbanded.

Update to GA

-Rumours of a possible Israeli attack on Iran have not been confirmed or denied. Israel
was unavailable for a comment.
-US has launched a new strategy in Iraq, following a massive explosion in Baghdad in
which 250 people died, most of them US troops. Operation Freedom’s Guardian has been
launched by the USs president.
-Mass Demonstrations happen in many US towns
-Turkey has been increasing its military intervention in northern Iraq.
-There has been a car bomb attack in Southern Turkey killing Turkish citizens, as well
as many European tourists, especially UK and German. The EU has been unavailable to
comment as of yet. Turkey has blamed the PKK, but nothing has been confirmed.

EU Statement on Iranian Atomic Programme

EU strongly condemns any atomic ambition of Iranian Government and urges
Israel to remain calm. EU believes that the Middle East region should
remain to be a nuclear-free zone in order to ensure peace and democracy in
the area.

Tension between Israel and Ira

Wwithin the lastt hours tensions between Israel and Iran occurred on a new level...

To Iran:
We, the State of Israel demands, that Iran immediately stops all enrichment processes of uranium and allow the IAEA to enter Iran to ensure that this is followed through. The State of Israel is willing to offer Iran technological help and support for the development of alternative energy sources. This however, will not happen unless Iran totally stops enrichment mentioned above.
Furthermore, Israel demands to Iran immediately stops all sponsoring of terrorist organisations, such as Hamas, Hezbollah and all other Al Qaeda related sub-groups and strongly distances itself from any such organization.
We are awaiting the immediate responds from the Iranian authorities.
---------

Response:
In response to Israel, we as the Islamic Republic of Iran has already been searched and, as confirmed by the National Intelligence Report, Iran is not producing nor pursuing any nuclear weapons capacity. Our nuclear program is strictly civil. Furthermore, we do not accept paternal remarks from any state that has, on numerous occasions, violated international law, disrespected international resolution and is not a member of the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty.

Iran does not sponsor any terrorist organizations nor have any connection with them. We are committed to regional stability and pursuit of peace and respect the sovereign entities of the Middle East.
